About Me

Hey! I’m Sophie, a singer-songwriter from Rhode Island. I am studying English and Creative Writing at Messiah University in hopes of improving my storytelling, songwriting, and communication skills. Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve always loved writing stories and creating. I discovered songwriting when I was twelve years old following a family tragedy, and I’ve been writing songs ever since. Through my music, my intention is to share stories about life's different seasons and to show how God is with us through it all. I think one of the worst things you can do is tell yourself you are alone; because it’s a lie.

If I’ve experienced anything through listening to music and worshipping in church, it’s that music connects us with others; it allows us to view and experience the world differently, and connect with God on a deeper level. My desire is to reach as many people as possible with my words, because I remember how important others' lyrics were to me in those tough times in my life. Whether those were worship songs that connected me to God in a way I couldn't explain, instrumentals that made for a peaceful escape, or secular songs that gave hope with simple but raw lyrics; they all had an impact on me. It felt like there was something more... there was hope, God really does hear my prayers, and maybe I should share this exciting news with others through my writing. The how of sharing? Learning from my peers, teachers, continuing to make music even when it's hard, and letting God write the rest.
